We've all seen messages left on bridges over roads and freeways on our commute, but have we ever put much thought into the thoughts, feelings, deep meaning or even just the effort behind them? It may sound silly but I will take you on an adventures of the messages I see overhead while on my daily commutes and the thoughts I have.

Wingman
yeah, i was a bit surprised to see this one. cause really, who puts "Wingman" all huge so everyone to see? and maybe it's just me, but i don't really see much glory in being a wingman. i'll be honest here, i'm not so certain as to what a wingman really does, but as far as i understand, he's the guy with one of his homies out trying to get chicks, but he's the guy that doesn't get the girl; he's just there to make the main man look good. somebody correct me if i am wrong. i know that we have all see those Dos Equis commercials, yeah, the ones with "The Most Interesting Man in the World." well, h said of wingmen this: "It does not take more than one man to talk to a woman." well said World's Most Interesting Man. that's what i think too.

Hi Alex,
ReplyDeleteYour blog idea is unique and fun to read! I usually don't pay attention to the words spelled in the overpass fence, but I'm going to pay more attention to them now.
To answer your question about the "wingman:" Yes, you're right about the term usually being used to describe a friend who joins you while picking up on chicks. The term originally came from the real meaning, which is a an aircraft that closely follows a leading aircraft. The second aircraft is called the "wingman" because he protects the leading aircraft and watches his back.
Have a great weekend!
